What is Sports Event Massage?
Sports Massage onsite covers a range of potential treatments and modalities. Pre event, post event and inter event sequences and techniques are all different and all designed to enhance the athletes performance and or recovery. Our sports therapists are trained in recognizing sports injuries and how to treat them, they also all hold current first Aid certificates.
Benefits of Our Sports Massage
Many of the benefits of Sports Event Massage are similar to normal sports massage
- Warms the tissue through friction
- Pumps circulation and increases supply of oxygenated blood to the muscles, helps pump by products or respiration out of the muscle tissue such as C02 and lactic acid etc

Techniques used in Sports Event Massage
Depending on athletes preferences and whether post-event, pre-event or inter-event these may include:
- A range of techniques some of which derived from Swedish and some from European NMT: Kneading, Friction, Transverse Stroking, longitudinal muscle fibre strokes, Compressions, Tapotement
- Nerve Stroke

Our onsite therapists will usually use sports specific performance oil, they will also be equipped with various cold application packs, pressurised cryo ice cuffs and physio supports to help minimise damage to your athlete in the event of soft tissue injury and inflammation.
