Mickel Therapy is a talking based treatment, developed in 1999 by medical doctor Dr David Mickel for conditions such as Fibromyalgia, ME/Chronic Fatigue Syndrome, Anxiety, Depression and other chronic conditions.
The treatment seeks to address problems with the Hypothalamus gland in the brain which normally regulates everything in the body. However, this gland can become overactive creating a wide range of physical symptoms.
Mickel Therapy gives people the guidance and tools to effectively listen to their body, by reading symptoms, and to take appropriate action, thereby removing the need for symptoms to occur.
What can I expect?
Susan, our qualified Mickel Therapist, offers a free
initial Skype or phone consultation, after which sessions are delivered either face-to-face in the clinic, by Skype or by phone, whichever suits the client best. You can book this directly with Susan via her website https://www.susanmurray-mickeltherapist.co.uk/
Sessions typically last about an hour and the average number needed by clients is 7-10. This can vary, depending on the severity of the client's symptoms and situation.
Sessions are weekly for the first 3 weeks and every 2-3 weeks, thereafter.
Clients will be asked to keep notes about frequency of symptoms and situations when they arise. Other relevant activities may also be given to clients to work on outside of sessions.
